Gardenland Co-op Scholarship Program 2025
Gardenland Co-op’s Mission is to impact the community through service excellence, meaningful relationships, and a generous spirit.
Through our scholarship program, we aim to support the future of our community and the youth who exemplify our core values.
Recognition will be awarded to 5 students across our trading area* pursuing post-secondary education, all who can demonstrate their connection to Co-ops Core Values of Community, Integrity, Excellence, and Sustainability. A monetary amount of $1000 will be awarded to each winner.
*Our trading area: Winkler, Morden, Plum Coulee, Lowe Farm, Rosetown, Rosenort, St. Joseph and nearby surrounding communities.

Application Rules and Requirements
1. Recipient must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution in the
2025/2026 academic calendar year, and has graduated from high school in 2025 or 2024. (Limited to students who are attending their first year of university or college, student's who have taken 1 gap year will still be accepted).
2. The applicant’s immediate family member (parent or legal
guardian) must be an active member of Gardenland Co-op for a minimum of one
year and must have had purchases during the previous fiscal year in excess of
$1500.
3. All scholarships must be used for the educational purposes stated or the awarded
sum must be returned to Gardenland Co-op.
4. The selection of the successful applicant is strictly at the discretion of the Gardenland
Co-op officials sitting on the scholarship committee.
5. No additional supporting documents other than the following will be accepted
and reviewed by the committee:
• The applicants school transcripts from grade 11 and partial grade 12
• Two community reference letters
• Max. 500 word essay (approx. 2 pages double spaced)
o Essay Topic: How do Gardenland Co-op’s values of Community, Integrity, Excellence, and Sustainability influence your own life? Share how you have demonstrated these values in your community and how they will shape your future, both in your post-secondary journey and beyond.
o The essay must be typed and in size 12 Times New Roman Font.
o Please include the word count on the bottom of your essay.
o Handwritten essay submissions will not be accepted
6. Deadline for handing in scholarship applications is May 31st, 2025. The successful applicant will be notified in writing in early June.
7. The successful applicant will receive the scholarship funds on presentation of a
letter of acceptance from the admissions office of the institution, and subsequent
proof of full-time course enrollment.
